My most used backcountry stove! by Tim Boland (Omaha, NE)
I'm kind of a stove nut. I have about 10 camping stoves from MSR, Brunton, Snowpeak, and Primus to name a few. Out of all of them, this is the one I grab for most of my trips into the backcountry. Why? Because 1) it's light for a gas stove 2)it's reliable 3)it is efficient with white gas 4)it primes quickly 5)it's quiet. Sometimes I opt for the Dragonfly if I will be doing a lot of cooking, but I'd say the Simmerlite does 80% of what the Dragonfly does, for a lot less to carry. There's always a trade-off, but for me the Simmerlite is the right balance!
