Kansas City Store – General Manager

The General Manager provides leadership and direction to the store team by exercising independent judgment and discretion in order to successfully execute company strategies. This position must exude a high level of excitement, professional presence and confidence. This includes but is not limited to the ability to act with great integrity and business maturity, build trust, be approachable, listen to others, drive and manage change, and ensure that all business is conducted without bias or prejudice. The General Manager drives and monitors store performance through sales management, operational and personnel functions, as well as store visual aesthetics and environment. This position drives results through creating short term plans, implementing long-term strategies, processes, and events that create a positive in-store experience for the internal and external customers.

The General Manager leads company initiatives, and ensures maximum productivity, profitability, and compliance with company procedures in the store and should consistently demonstrate and act in accordance to Backwoods expectations. It is imperative for the General Manager to foster a positive environment that develops and engages their people, generates sales and promotes operational excellence.

    Requirements:
  • 4 year degree
  • 5 years managing a multi-millon dollar store
  • Proven experience reading financial reports
  • Solid leadership and management skills
  • Ability to build and motivate a team
  • Evidence of outreach and outside marketing experience
  • Experience managing staff of 20+
  • Innovative management of retail store workflow and general operations
  • Involvement in community organizations
  • Fundamental understanding of inventory management and product flow
